Map Your Communication Style. Connect with Greater Clarity.

The Origin Story

I’ve spent the last 25 years working in and around the world of marketing—helping small businesses grow, share their gifts, and find their people. And while I love witnessing that kind of transformation, I’ve also carried a quiet discomfort with how marketing is so often done.

At its best, it’s a bridge between need and solution. But at its worst? It can feel manipulative. Performative. Just… off.

Meet the Founders

One question kept circling: Is it possible to get someone's attention, and communicate with clarity and care, even when we don’t agree—without forcing an outcome?

One evening over dinner, I shared this inner conflict with my dad. He’s a retired programmer, endlessly curious, and never one to let me settle into vague frustration.

I mentioned a cynical joke from this Bill Hicks' ’90s stand-up bit that had stuck with me:

“If you’re in marketing, kill yourself.”

It was brutal, sure—but it named something real: the tension between wanting to connect authentically and the systems that often reward the opposite.

My dad tilted his head. “Okay. What exactly do you mean by manipulative?”

I paused. “I don’t know… the opposite of honest.”

He nodded. “So be honest.”

“And not so pushy,” I added.

“So be subtle.”

That moment cracked something open.

We started naming all the traits that rubbed me the wrong way in conventional communication—and then flipped them. Subtle instead of loud. Honest instead of persuasive. Visual instead of verbal. Slowly, we began building a map. First with two axes. Then three. Then five.

He pulled out his notebook and started modeling it with equations. I pulled out mine and began imagining the people who might find freedom in it.

That’s how the Multi-Dimensional Messaging Matrix was born— as a shared curiosity. A father-daughter collaboration, woven from mathematics and meaning, structure and softness.

Over time, we researched psychological frameworks, explored communication theory, and tested the patterns we were seeing. What emerged wasn’t just a better way to market—it was a deeper way to relate. A system that helps you understand your natural communication instincts and adjust them with integrity, depending on the moment, the message, and the relationship.

MMM is a reflection tool. A clarity tool. A relational tool. Whether you’re writing a sales page, navigating a team dynamic, crafting a presentation, or simply trying to be understood—it can guide you toward greater self-awareness and connection.

It started as a conversation about what felt wrong. It became a language for what feels right.

We hope it offers you insight, permission, and resonance—as it has for us.

With heart,
